Shortly after graduating from high school he moved to Argentina to serve a voluntary church mission for 2 years. Upon returning home, he met his future wife and fell head over heels in love. He married Sonny, and together, they attended the University of Utah and received their bachelor’s degrees. Upon graduating from the U of U, he was accepted to a ‘top ten dental school’ and shortly thereafter they moved to the heart of the mid-west; Iowa City, Iowa.

In 2001, after completing his 4-year dental program and 2-year orthodontic specialty residency, Dr. Curtis, along with his wife, three sons and one daughter, were thrilled to move to North Idaho. They are happiest when they are spending time together as a family. Winters are spent on our local ski slopes. I've taken all three of my kiddos here for the past few years. My oldest just started braces and required some additional orthodontic work. Curtis Orthodontics is a very professional place with friendly, knowledgeable staff. We have been very well cared for!
I thought I was bringing two of my kids in early at 8:45 for 9 AM appointments. Oops, the appointments were actually at 8 AM. I felt awful, but Niki (sp?) at the front desk assured me that it was ok and my mistake hadn’t messed up the schedule for the day. Not only that, but she was able to fit the boys in the schedule again! Thank you so much for the orthodontic care and the hospitality and professionalism.
For Kyler Otto - First appointment I was a mess, a toddler who pooped in the consult room, a husband out of town. They were so understanding and accommodating. He then had to have an urgent surgery to attach a chain but the right part wasn’t in the braces for the oral surgeon to attach it to, Curtis got us in same day to get it attached properly. So thankful for their quick action. Today is only the second day of tightening but everything seems to be going well!
My daughter is always treated with such kindness and care. Very talented orthodontist with updated technology and skills…..
I am 34 years old and got braces for the first time. This was a whole experience. What a great place to go for orthodontics. The atmosphere was great the people were all great! I had my 4 yr old with me for my whole appointment and they helped keep him occupied. I can’t say thank you enough for that in its self. They have slushes, cookies, coffee and massage chairs.
Our first experience having to go to an Orthodontist. From the moment we stepped foot into the office staff was very welcoming. Dr Curtis explained everything with clear understanding. Krista was putting my kiddos braces on she was so wonderful.
