The following instructions and video will help you understand how to use wax to help with any discomfort from your braces.
Tenderness: Pinch off a piece of wax from the case that’s about the size of a pea and then roll it up into a little ball. Get your bracket as dry as possible and then put the wax ball on top of the bracket and then push it into the bracket. You want to make sure it molds into all 4 sides of the bracket. The wax will act as a band aid so your lip will rub against the smooth wax instead of your bracket.
Poking Wire: If you have a poking wire and can’t make it into the office right away, you can pinch off a piece of wax, get the bracket as dry as you can, and mold the wax over the bracket, covering the long wire.
